The Way of Sinners and Evil Gangs (Proverbs 1:7-19)

The greatest fear of every parent is that their children will go down the wrong path by the enticement of the wrong people. Yet the child in ignorance and innocence is often enticed by those people and things which seem good to them at first yet will end in destruction of their life and soul. In this sermon we show the warning signs of those wrong paths and people who take them. In this we see that the Sinner's Path is always the same and the end result on the soul is always the same no matter what it pretends to be or to offer. When we observe the Ways of Sinners and see the warning signs of their path, then, regardless of appearance, we will see and be warned, keeping ourselves away from their enticements and deceits.

Proverbs 1:7-19 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. 8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 9 for they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

10 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. 11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: 12 let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: 13 we shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 14 cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: 15 my son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 16 for their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. 17 Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. 18 And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives. 19 So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

      The Song Of The Redeemed I like it when something in a passage gets explained and it opens up. I’m sure I knew some of this before (though this old brain gets forgetful), but it struck me more today. Rahab, when used as a symbol through the Old Testament, refers to Egypt.       Thy Gentleness Hath Made Me Great Was just reading some poetry by king David, and came across one of my favourite verses again.       In The Day When I Cried Sometimes we think it is presumption to ask the Lord to answer a prayer today. Though if a prayer does seem more urgent, we may have asked the Lord to perfect (complete) that which concerneth us (from Psalm 138:8).       Reading The Scriptures   There are two main words for know (and its forms) in the New Testament.   1) Strong’s #1492, eido.       No debate. God told the first man and woman,  husband and wife,  that they would die if they disobeyed Him. They disobeyed Him.
