Even Atheist’s Live by Faith

“It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” (Psalms 118:8 KJV)

a·the·ist [ey-thee-ist] is a noun.

a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings.

Origin:

1565–75; < Greek áthe ( os ) godless + -ist

*Definition taken from dictionary.com*

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders OBtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” ( Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV)

An atheist believes, or has faith, accepts as his truth, there is no God or higher authority in existence, than man in this world. What concrete truths can man offer in support of this godless belief system? Creation screams clearly and perfectly there is one God who is the Creator and sustains life. God has made man with an innate longing for a heart relationship with Him; serving and worshiping Him both in spirit and truth.

“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” ( Romans 1:19-21)

Faith is a universal hope. All men, including any who consider themselves to be atheists, exist or live by faith in something or someone. The issue is not only if individuals place their trust in a belief of God and the blood of Jesus Christ, or errantly place their trust in people or OBjects; rather it is also if what we have bestowed our trust in is found to be unfailing. The Bible has been the proven and reliable Truth of God over and over again. Our faith is only as worthy as the OBject or entity in which it is placed.

The Bible speaks much about faith in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews. This chapter has been coined the “Biblical Faith Hall of Fame.” Atheists would tell us our life existence has no real purpose. This chapter rehearses details of great men and women of abundant faith such as Noah, Abel, Enoch, Abraham, and Sara who placed great faith in God and how His great purposes shaped their lives for His purpose and glory.
People often bounce from one humanistic idea to another, often undermining confidence in the laws of creation as well. Theories of evolution cannot be fit into an account of creation of a holy God.

Many continue to choose to wallow in self-deprecating lifestyle habits and choices which serve to camouflage or suppress, but never fill or relieve their innate desire. God has placed a desire or huge void in every man’s heart just waiting for our invitation for His presence in their lives, filling the spiritual chasm in their heart.
Atheism is a belief system or structure containing disorder and chaos, and fleeting happiness depending upon immediate circumstances. This changing about with the wind causes many to run about in circles, attempting to defend personal beliefs and opinions not logical or truthful according to the Word of God. Atheists never stumble upon a concrete foundation to build their life upon in this godless mindset.

God is always and foremost God of order and truth. The following verse comes at the end of a chapter in 1st Corinthians speaking to us about order in worship and service within the church; however, this order carries through in spiritual growth and discernment to our lives outside of church as well.

“Let all things be done decently and in order.”

(1 Corinthians 14:40)

God is a God of order, decency, and perfection, not chaos and confusion. He freely provides clarity of Truth and spiritual discernment allowing all to rightly divide His Word.
Faith placed in Him is building our spiritual house upon the solid Rock. The indwelling of His spirit fills up the ravine within our hearts perfectly and puts life in perfect order.

For Further Consideration:

What belief system do you base your life upon? Are you grounded upon the Word of God, or based upon man’s opinion and traditions? Put your trust in the proven Rock.

How can an atheist "disprove" the existence of God or "a" god? Did they search the entire Universe? What if God established His base on another planet like the Mormon's believe? What if God was located in the Andromeda Galaxy in a small solar system with two binary stars? So who CREATED the Universe? "Well . . . it began with the BIG BANG!" Oh really? Well then where did the BIG BANG come from? Out of NOTHING, NOTHING COMES! Nothing can DO nothing, and nothing cannot CREATE anything! Or . . . "aliens created us." Really? Well who created the aliens? You can't have an infinite regress because infinite minus infinite results in infinite. It's a concept in the mind -- it doesn't really exist. Infinite is NOT the same as Eternal. Common sense isn't so common! ?

God Bless!

    • Please check out this thread again. I updated it with new (good) versions of the PDF books. Explanation above.
    • The Song Of The Redeemed I like it when something in a passage gets explained and it opens up. I’m sure I knew some of this before (though this old brain gets forgetful), but it struck me more today. Rahab, when used as a symbol through the Old Testament, refers to Egypt. Now read this: Isaiah 51:9-10 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old. Art thou not it that hath cut Rahab, and wounded the dragon? Art thou not
    • Thy Gentleness Hath Made Me Great Was just reading some poetry by king David, and came across one of my favourite verses again. Focus on the last part of this verse: Psalms 18:35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great. In the world’s eyes, we may not be much or accomplish much, but in God’s eyes, we are great - because of Him. Who we are in Christ never changes from day to day, so we can alwa
    • In The Day When I Cried Sometimes we think it is presumption to ask the Lord to answer a prayer today. Though if a prayer does seem more urgent, we may have asked the Lord to perfect (complete) that which concerneth us (from Psalm 138:8). If we have a need or a trouble, we may pray for it, expecting God to answer it in His own timing. But what happens if the need seems more urgent, if the trouble we are facing seems more dire, perhaps even time-sensitive? Is it presumptuous to pray, asking
    • Does God Delight In You? Psalms 18:19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. If you have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation, you are accepted in Him by the Father - and you therefore become a child that He delights in. Proverbs 3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. We may not like the application of this second verse to ourselves, but He corrects us beca
    • Reading The Scriptures   There are two main words for know (and its forms) in the New Testament.   1) Strong’s #1492, eido. This word basically has the idea of head knowledge, knowing about something.   2) Strong’s #1097, ginosko (from the root word, gnosis, knowledge). This word has the idea of knowing about something personally, personally experiencing what you know about.   Looking up every time the word know (or a form thereof) occurs in the NT (with these ba
    • Good to see the two studies on this theme still here in the Sermons section. My websites got repeatedly hacked two years ago. We lost all content and had to rebuild from scratch. These two were ones I still hadn't put up again. A bit of copy and paste, and there we go!
    • DRAW NEAR TO GOD   Song of Songs 1:4 Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.   The above verse is a prayer or desire of the believer desiring to fellowship with her Lord.   I love how the Word of God uses the idea of God drawing us to Himself.   Firstly, through His death on the cross and the preaching of the G
    • No debate. God told the first man and woman,  husband and wife,  that they would die if they disobeyed Him. They disobeyed Him. They died.  The time that passed before this was physically observed was considerably longer than 75 years, right ?  So also today,  do not look at what is seen with the eyes, nor listen to what is heard with the ears (carnal, fleshly, worldly, physical),  rather trust ABBA YHVH.
