The Hot Truth About Hell

Galations 2:20

Today many have no conception of Hell, Sheol in the Hebrew, or Hades , Tartarus, and Gehenna in the Greek language. It is a literal place where men are in the process of dying but never succumbing to death, subjected to incessant agony and physical torment. Churches need to unapologetically preach the clear truth about Hell. Christians need to be able to witness about Heaven to others, and plainly delineating about the horror of an authentic place called Hell. All men must come to terms with an actual place called Hell and the hope of eternity with Christ.

The book of Revelation tells us “He has the keys to Hell and death.” Life and death are in the power of His nail torn hands because His sacrificial death for our sins on the cross took away the power of death, giving us the gift of salvation and eternal life.
The following verse proves His deity over time; past, present and future, He is not bound or limited by time as man is. This verse plainly declares there is a literal heaven and likewise, or opposite, a literal hell.

I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (Revelation 1:18)

Hell has been described as being a place that:

· Man will have a memory that will NEVER fail.

· It is a place that EVERY request will be denied.

· It is a place of HATRED.

· It is a place located DOWNWARD, NOT UPWARDS towards eternity

· A place of Outer DARKNESS

· A PRISON in chains

· It is a place of UNQUENCHABLE THIRST, a thirst for spiritual things of Christ that can never be

quenched.

· It is a place of ever LONGING.

· It is a place of FIRE that is NEVER extinguished.

· A place where the worm DIETH NOT, sinners never die.

· A place of EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION.

· A place of NO REST day and night.

· A place of TORMENT day and night for eternity.

Speaking about hell is not a popular subject in our society. Many deny its existence; others cannot fathom how a loving God could cast people into such a place. Though it may be unpopular and dated to speak of hell, the reality of its existence must be addressed and expounded upon. Just as one cannot deny the existence of God, or that He is the Creator of the world, it is also plainly stated in scripture about the existence of Hell.

“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.” (Matthew 25:46)

“And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.” (Isaiah 66:24)

“Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.” (Matthew 18:8)

“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;” (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9)

“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.” (Revelation 14:11)

“And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.” (Acts 3:23)

“And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 13:50)

“And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.” (John 5:29)

“But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” (Luke 12:5)

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” (Jude 1:7)

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:4)

To Contemplate Further:

The scriptural confirmation for a place called Hell is overwhelming.
Likewise, the many promises of a place called Heaven are bountiful, truthful, and freely available for whosoever has faith to believe in Him.

Choose peace and eternal life, not the wide road to Hell with its torment and heat hounding and taunting one physically forever.

If man is annihilated and ceases to exist after physical death; and if there are no moral repercussions after death, then why are there objective moral values? I can murder 300 of my fellow human beings, shoot myself in the head, and it will ultimately result in the same fate as the rest of humanity -- that is -- cessation of all conscience, and no penalty for my actions whatsoever. Ultimately, life will serve no purpose at all in this Universe. Even if I am a philanthropist who feeds the poor and donates millions to charities -- what good will that do when I'm gone? I won't be here . . . and I won't know about the results of my actions while I was living here on Earth if I cease to exist. Ultimately, life would have no TRUE meaning to it, and we can live our lives how we want -- and when we're satisfied with what we've accomplished -- we can simply take our own lives and nothing would have been fulfilled regarding effects which endure throughout time immemorial. Whether you believed that you have lived your life to the Glory of God or were a genocidal madman like Hitler, it would ultimately make no difference at all if we cease to exist after death.

People need to realize this because we will ALL live Eternally in one of two places whether we refuse to believe it or not; and everyone will be held accountable to God for their actions and deeds done here on Earth in this life.

And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: [and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works]. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15)

God Bless!!

    • Dan, I appreciate your thoughts. All of the good things that come in our life are from God in heaven; James 1:17 God is our heavenly Father who desires to bless His children. Matthew 7:11,  says, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" The Sermon on the Mount story of the father in Matthew 7:9-11 who gave his son his desires is a testimony of the goodness of God to His children who ask Him for the desires of their heart as according to His will. Thanks!
    • The amount of times that Psalm 37:4 & 5 have been taken out of context by well-meaning bible teachers is astounding -- especially by the WOF prosperity teachers. It's not that God will give us a private jet with our own airport, or having figurines of biblical figures that cost more than some people's homes; it is all about receiving the good gifts that comes down from the Father of Lights (Jas.1:17). If we delight ourselves in the LORD, then naturally our "desires" will be in accordance with God's will (cf.Matt. 7:10); gifts such as the means to start a ministry, or our desire to bring the lost to Christ so that He may be glorified through us. God is not a "genie" . . . and I am grieved that the reason why so many people become "Christians" is, "what can God do for me? rather than what can I do for God as a living sacrifice?" God Bless!
    • It is exciting to see how in these last days the Lord is working among the Chinese people.
    • TRUE Love for the LORD is accompanied by absolute devotion and commitment. Peter's claim to love the LORD was not supported by his past actions. Peter went to the shores of Galilee to await Jesus' command to meet Him there. Fishing was their livelihood, but now Jesus demanded that their absolute devotion to Him would lead them to be fishers of men. Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him more than the fish, and Peter answered, Yes! Whenever there are two synonyms which are placed closely together in context (e.g.,"love"), and has different meanings; it is placed there for emphasis (Jn. 21:15-17).  Peter TRULY did love the LORD, and used the Greek word *phileo" instead of *agapao* because he had denied the LORD in the past and was most likely reluctant in choosing his words for that matter. Jesus knew Peter's heart . . . and knew that Peter did indeed love the LORD, but that there was a lack of absolute devotion and commitment. Jesus demands our love for Him to be sacrificial and from the heart; anything less than that is not worthy of the LORD.
      God Bless!
    • God devotion on the characteristics of love. I appreciate the following; "4. Love cannot be described.
No words adequate enough to describe love. (“so much” as in John 3:16)
Love is seen in action, not in words. (Calvary)." Thank you Irishman.
    • The bible says that "He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him." (1 John 3:14b-15) I came across a Christian website today where "Christians" were speaking horrible things about another Christian brother because this man's children had cancer and his wife was dying. The had the audacity to say that the reason why this Christian brother's wife and child had cancer was because it MUST have been that he had sinned and that he is in hell right now. This behavior disgusted me to the core. It is a shame that such people who call themselves Christians can behave in such manner. This angers the Lord and He will NOT answer their prayers because God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. God Bless!
    • Thanks for sharing your devotionals as they have benefited me greatly. We often don't hear or see integrity on display, even among Christians. Jesus said, "Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?" And, "be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." The lack of discipline and unchristlike behavior is monumental and unprecedented in Christendom today -- which is a sign leading to the Greate Apostasy spoken of in scripture. It is almost as if "Christians" go out of their way to behave worse than the unbelieving world, and keep NOT the commandments of God out of love for Him. The Lord will separate the sheep from the goats, and the wheat from the tares at the harvest. Just keeping the commandments alone does NOT prove oneself to be a Christian; it is the outward manifestation of the inward man/woman which shows what is truly in their hearts (Matt.12 :34-37). It is our "desire" to  "please" the Lord with our obedience which is the correct beatitude attitude. Anything other than that is wood, hay, and stubble. God Bless!
    • What disturbs me is the vast amount of "Christians" who profess to *know* the Lord and live a life no different than the rest of the unbelieving world -- if not worse; and there is absolutely no disparity between the two. This is one of the reasons why so much of the unbelieving world DO NOT want to become Christians; because most people who profess to be in Christ are hypocrites. We're supposed to love one another -- even those who are behaving in an ungodly manner. We are to pray for these people so that they may repent and turn their life over to Christ as their Lord and Savior. But if the unbelieving world sees us as NO DIFFERENT than the rest of the world . . . then how is our light shining? Has the salt lost its flavor? Paul had to be knocked off of his "high horse" to realize that he was no better than the rest of the world -- even worse. The LORD had to humble him and bring him to his knees for him to realize that he, like the rest of the world, was in danger of hellfire. Stubbornness, and refusal to submit to the will of God only stunts a "Christian's" growth, and as a result, they will bring forth NO fruits and will be cast as a branch into the fire to be burned by men (cf. Jn. 15). God Bless!
    • Chinese, to me, is the most difficult language to learn in the entire world; not to mention the variety of dialects such as Mandarin, Cantonese, etc. I'm thrilled that more churches are being planted in China, and I have seen them prosper mightily in the Lord. God Bless!
