"LEAWOOD, Kan. (BP) — Pastor’s wife Marilane Carter has been missing since Aug. 1 when she departed her Overland Park, Kan., home, reportedly to seek psychiatric care in Birmingham, Ala.

The Overland Park Police Department said in a press release that Carter left her home around 8:15 p.m. Aug. 1 and was last heard from Aug. 2 when she was near Memphis, Tenn., about 450 miles into her trip.

Leawood Baptist Church Lead Pastor Adam Carter, Marilane’s husband, has joined a search party covering a 3-mile radius around the place her cell phone was last used.

It is with very heavy hearts that we share that Marilane Carter has passed away. Her vehicle and body were found Tuesday in the West Memphis area. Law enforcement says that foul play is not suspected.

Please keep Pastor Adam and the children in your prayers.

Many of you have already been asking if there is anything else you can do to help the family at this time. The best thing that we can do right now is pray for them. They don't have any immediate physical needs. If that changes, we'll be sure to let the LBC Faith Family know.
