Controversial Former Baptist Pastor Greg Locke Suspended From Twitter....

I feel the same way about Pastor Locke, not for or against him. However, I would not in good conscious be able to be part of his church. It was game over for me when he left his wife, and now his church services look like a rock concert. 

I don't agree with the Twitter ban,  but politically... I say keep going Mr. Locke.

Mr. Locke and I have had several "altercations" through emails and messenger. He's haughty, is preaching POLITICS from his pulpit (sorry, but I can't say that I believe it's the Lord's pulpit any longer) and that's NOT wha the Lord has commissioned us to do. Yes, we can speak our political minds, but I don't believe that a church service is a place to do so. At some point it seems to me to cross an ethical line. I've defended Mr. Locke on many things, because he's been correct. I give credit where credit is due. But, I also "try the spirits," and the Holy Spirit just doesn't give me a peace about this man. I support his speaking out against what is wrong with our government, but don't believe it should be done from behind the pulpit, unless that particular service has been called for the purpose. I still pray for him because American's DO NEED a mouthpiece against the tyrannical dictators that are trying to run our country. 

I don't know this pastor, but this is not good. Also we have no longer any Conservative Christian leaders that can win, This Country US has been taken over by liberals, supported by Christians? Christians put Bidden in office. Preachers need to focus more on winning the lost for Christ. We are running out of time.

Not writing about Mr. Locke, but I thought that the statement you made about what preachers need to focus on needed a response.

My response is that this is not what preachers need to focus on; their focus needs to be on feeding their flock, that is their marching orders. 

John 21:15-17 (KJV) So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

This does not preclude preachers from winning souls for Christ, it is just not to be their main focus.

I have no problem with pastors touching on politics from the pulpit as long as it doesn't become a bully pulpit or outright campaigning for someone.  I see nothing wrong with preaching about modern social and political issues in the light of scripture.

That's just the point...MOST will not keep it in perspective...Mr. Locke is one of those who will not do so. If he wants to be a politician, he should leave the ministry and try his luck in the political realm If politics are mentioned in passing, I have no problem with it, but, to go as far as some preachers have been going lately, it's crossing the line.
