This is the place to post about self sufficiency or just about anything having to do with lifestyle, like Gardening, Farming, Beekeeping, Canning, Husbandry, Hunting, Fishing, Crafts, Hobbies, Alternative Energy, Wood Working, Off Grid Living.
Works follow repentance. Repentance is a change of mind. Repentance is tied into faith but it's faith in the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins that saves. A man can repent and still not get saved like as with Judas Iscariot. His was a worldly repentance and his work was hanging himself. He had no faith in his Savior.
Anyway, the so-called prodigal son repented when he realized "I perish" and said "I will arise and go to my father...". He didn't say, "After I forsake my sins then I will go to my father". He saw his condition, had a change of mind and went
Not when God causes it by His grace. What do you think is meant by submission to God? Rebellion and pride and self righteousness is work, not submission to God. Submission is the opposite of self work! its letting go and allowing God to have his way. My Chinese friend Wu Cheng suffered from respiratory problems. Most of the time he could control it through some sort of meditation he developed himself. But there were times when he was in Alaska that it overcame him and I hauled him into the ER where they were able to get the attack to subside. If you remember it was the one where I could not post my lesson because of forum formatting messing up my text. You were able to post it in its entirety and the link to it is HERE.
I just took the cognitive test, failed, could not sign my name properly, could not remember the few numbers in order, saw four animals instead of three (I was sure there was a mouse in that diagram), got the hands on the clock wrong, got mad at the psychologist, could not draw a straight line, and now they are kicking me out of the my retirement home.
But, that is ok with me, they took my drivers license away last year and I could not remember how to walk back back to the retirement home anyway! Oh well, back to the basement!
