I recently got an email from an American friend down in Haikou where we used to live. There is a Chinese couple there named Brian and Carrie. When we first moved there, they weren't dating or anything, but while we lived there they started dating and got married and now have one baby girl. They're a very solid couple - believers, both excellent in English and had good jobs - especially her working for the government somehow. Rachel's coming here with her mom next week, and they're going to meet my parents and visit my church.

I told her I was going to have a surprise for her. What do y'all think I should sign her up to sing at church? The Hallelujah chorus?

WOW! How quickly a month can get away from you. September is almost over, which leaves me with four more months of deployment left (11/15 gone). I am trying to get out of the country to go home on leave for a couple of weeks, but our week here started with massive dustorms. Which look alot like sandstorms without the heavy winds. I am praying that flight schedules catch up so that I can get out of here in time for some important events back home.
One of which is the celebration of my oldest daughters...

We started school early this year. No reason not to start. I have all of my books and my kids start getting bored about this time every summer. We are just easing in to the year, of course. We are going through Proverbs for Bible using Wellsprings of Life by Donald Orthner. It's basically Proverbs put into subject categories. The kids seem to be enjoying it.
