Bible Institute starting by deputydog530 on September 18th, 2008, 6:05 pm
Tonight we start our bible institute. We use the curruculum from Oak Harbor washington written by Robert Sargent and the late Gary Prisk. I graduated from this institute in 2001 and am now teaching part of it. I would have never guessed the Lord would use me in such a way. One thing I have learned over my 14 1/2 years as a Christian. Never say never. The Lord will use you in the most exciting ways if you will only let him. I learned not just to listen to God but to Hear him. We can listen...

The start of something new by Bro Ed on August 22nd, 2008, 3:38 am
Well here we are again. The beginning of another day. God is really good, isn't he. I have discovered that my biggest blessing thus far from joining OB (besides corresponding with new Bro's and Sis's in Christ), is it has caused me to dig a little deeper in the well. Then another deacon's son called and said his mom, (piano player) and dad were both sick. So if I count the two families in there 80's that won't be there either and Mrs. Candy...

One of the hardest thing ive ever done by deputydog530 on December 9th, 2008, 11:50 pm
Its been one month since I did one of the hardest things ive done I think ever done. On November 8th I performed my first funeral. The funeral of a 19 year old boy who took his own life. This boy was like one of my own kids, infact was good friends with my kids. I believe he is saved and that eased the pain a lot. I also had to do my first wedding service 3 hours after the funeral. It was a full day. The Lord was soo good that day. He gave the strength needed, dried the tears when the gospel...

Unspeakable anger by 5dumplings@home on August 13th, 2007, 12:05 pm
There is a young man 10 or 11 years old in our junior church class. My heart aches for him. He was born into a Christian family, but for whatever reason, he has enough anger and bitterness in his heart to satisfy the needs of an 80 year old unsaved man. He is rapidly heading toward a collision course with either violence or drugs/alcohol.

His mom has some pretty serious health issues, but the anger pre-dates that by about 4 years. Yes, he has always been angry and rebellious. I remember him...
